In this INSAID Spotlight interview, we feature Sankar Ganesh, a leading CRM Manager at Super Auto Forge Pvt. Ltd. His insatiable passion for knowledge and upskilling led him to enroll in the Global Certificate in Data Science program at INSAID.
Question 1: Which program & batch are you a part of at INSAID & tell us more about your current work profile?
Sankar: I am a part of the Global Certificate in Data Science (GCD) program, June 2021 batch. Currently, I am working at Super Auto forge Pvt ltd Chennai. Super Auto Forge is the pioneer and the largest manufacturer of cold and warm forged Steel and Aluminum parts in India. I work as a CRM Manager to maintain wonderful relations with clients and improve the overall brand reputation.
Question 2: What tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered at INSAID so far?
Sankar: I am working with Python libraries for Data Science tasks such as data processing, modeling, and visualizations, and have learned NumPy, Pandas, Seaborn, Matplotlib, etc.
Question 3: What challenges did you face when you started your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?
Sankar: I initially faced a challenge in coding but with regular practice and hard work I’ve overcome it. In fact, the recorded sessions and online content are really helpful.
Question 4: Who is your favorite faculty at INSAID and what did you learn from them?
Sankar: Deepesh is my favorite faculty at INSAID. I love the way he explains all the concepts with ease and clarity.
Question 5: What is the goal of Data Science?
Sankar: The objective of Data Science is to explore, sort, and analyze mega data from various sources to optimize business processes and for business decisions.
Question 6: How has Data Science evolved in the last few years and any trend that you are most excited about?
Sankar: Data Science has evolved to such a level where homogeneous cohorts are shown similar messages. With the use of Big Data Analytics techniques, brands can show an individualized message to every customer, based on their preference. One-to-one marketing has become a reality. I’m excited about Big data, Deep Fake, Hybrid Cloud platforms, etc.
Question 7: Which Data Science blogs do you follow?
Sankar: I follow INSAID Blogs and the Resource center on the LMS platform.
Question 8: What advice would you give to a beginner in Data Science?
Sankar: Pursuing Data Science can be a good career change for experienced professionals and it’s a boon for beginners. It requires a lot of hard work, dedication and, practice.
