In this INSAID Spotlight interview, we feature Dipti Gaikwad, a Post Graduate in Analytical Chemistry. Her insatiable quest for knowledge led her to enroll in the Certificate in Data Science Foundation program at INSAID.
Question 1: Which program & batch are you a part of at INSAID & tell us more about your current work profile?
Dipti: I’m a part of the Certificate in Data Science Foundation (CDF) program, July 2021 batch. I have post-graduated in Analytical Chemistry and looking for a career transition in Data Analytics.
Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?
Dipti: I have completed my studies in Analytical Chemistry and looking forward to beginning a career in Data Analytics. I am currently mastering my skills at INSAID.
Question 3: What tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered at INSAID so far?
Dipti: I have learned NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and other Data Analytics tools.
Question 4: What challenges did you face when you started your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?
Dipti: As I am from a non-technical background and had no clue about starting my career in Data Analytics. INSAID has helped me to learn from basic terms of Analytics to building my own project.
Question 5: What is the goal of Data Science?
Dipti: The goal of Data Science is to gather data, analyze it and offer meaningful Insights to offer the best predictions for a business solution.
Question 6: What current trends in Data Science are you most excited about?
Dipti: I’m very excited about the concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analysis.
Question 7: Which Data Science blogs do you follow?
Dipti: I follow Towards Data Science, Medium, KD Nuggets, and Analytics Vidhya.
Question 8: What advice would you give to a beginner in Data Science?
Dipti: To start a career in Data Science one should be familiar with Statistics, Probability, Computer Science, and Domain knowledge.
